Keep an eye out for these amazing things to discover when you visit the USS Midway Museum:

1. 25 Restored Aircraft

Restored aircraft ranging from the World War II TBM Avenger to the Operation Desert Storm A-6 Intruder are on display. The museum also includes aircraft that were flown during the Korean War and Vietnam War. Currently, the museum is preparing several vintage aircraft that will join the collection. Don’t miss the aircraft with open cockpits!

2. Active Military Ceremonies

The USS Midway Museum hosts many military ceremonies throughout the year. The public is welcome to witness ceremonies aboard the aircraft carrier like reenlistments, retirements, promotions, pinnings, commissioning ceremonies, change of command, graduations, reunions, and memorials.

3. Flight Simulators

What is it like to take off from the flight deck of an aircraft carrier? Or engage in combat with the enemy? Flight simulators at the USS Midway Museum allow visitors to pilot a two-person Strike Fighter 360 or the 12-person occupancy F-18 Hornet that flies on an Operation Desert Storm naval combat missions.

4. Former Navy Sailors as Tour Guides and Audio Tours With Personal Stories

Visitors can take a one-hour guided tour of the USS Midway Museum. Tours are led by former Navy sailors and are a popular way to experience this historic ship. Self-guided audio tours are also available. The audio is narrated by sailors that were stationed on the USS Midway and include information on the exhibits as well as personal accounts of their lives aboard the aircraft carrier.

5. Authentic Meals From the USS Midway Cookbook

Visit the Fantail Café for lunch or a snack and dine on the patio. Feast on burgers, sandwiches, salads and more or make your experience even more authentic and try a meal prepared from the aircraft carrier’s 1945 cookbook.

Hours and Location

USS Midway Museum is open each day from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. It is located on Navy Pier at 910 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, California, 92101.

Tickets and Parking

General Admission at the museum is $20.00 for adults (18+), $17.00 for seniors (62+), $15.00 for students (13-17 or w/ college ID),  $10.00 for retired military (with valid ID), and $10.00 for youth (ages 6-12). Children under 5 are free. When you purchase tickets online, you can receive $2.00 off each regular admission ticket.

Parking at the USS Midway Museum is available along on Navy Pier for a fee. For more parking, metered spaces on city streets are also available.
